From Rural development, Ugwuanyi targets 2 flyovers in 2021

From inception Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state did not leave anyone in doubt with regards to the focus of his administration.

Aggressive rural development was his main target and this he has done in the face of economic meltdown and several economic challenges which the country is still battling.

Having made appreciable impact in Enugu’s rural communities it didn’t come as a surprise that the governor in his 2021 budget presentation to the state Assembly announced plans to tackle the perennial traffic congestion in some parts of the state capital.

This he said would be tackled through the construction of flyovers in two major flashpoints in the Enugu capital city.

One of them is the ever busy T-Junction in the Abakpa Nike area of the capital.

The NOWAS/Nike road has become increasingly busy due to the bad state of the 9th-mile-Nsukka federal highway.

This has put heavy pressure on the Ugwogo/Nsukka bypass as all vehicles travelling to Nsukka, Obollo Afor, Benue and other parts of the North including Abuja now divert to the route.

The need to decongest and solve the traffic issues at the Ogbete main market has also given rise to the second flyover to be constructed by the Ugwuanyi administration.

Ugwuanyi would no doubt be competing with the best of administrators by the time these projects are completed.

The 2021 budget is action packed and promises to take the hitherto beautiful city of Enugu to a greater height.
